Stats + Stories: Tracking Health Over Time
WYSO is partnering with Stats and Stories, a podcast produced at Miami University.
Odds are, as you’ve read research or news stories on the efficacy of particular medications, trends in aging, or issues related to minority health, you’ve likely encountered the work of researchers specializing in biostatistics.
The University of Alabama Birmingham, or UAB’s Biostatistics Department, explains that those interested in the subject study, “how data, population studies, and health, intersect”. That intersection is the focus of this episode of Stats and Stories, where we explore the statistics behind the stories and the stories behind the statistics.
Rosemary Pennington is joined by regular panelists, John Bailer, Chair of Miami Statistics Department, and Richard Campbell of Media, Journalism, and Film. Their guest is Lloyd Edwards. Edwards is the Chair of Biostatistics at the University of Alabama Birmingham’s School of Public Health.
Stats and Stories is a partnership between Miami University's Departments of Statistics and Media, Journalism and Film and the American Statistical Association.
