Book Nook: The Keepers by Jeffrey B. Burton

Vick Mickunas' 2021 interview with Jeffrey B. Burton

Writers of crime novels are always looking for new angles. Jeff Burton
seems to have found one in his series which features a team of cadaver dogs and their handler. In the second book in this series, "The Keepers," set mostly in the Chicago region, Burton has imagined a Chicago that is riddled with corruption up to the highest levels of government. Hard to imagine, eh? Corruption in Chicago? Not that far fetched, right?

Most of the fetching in this novel is performed by this intrepid pack of highly skilled sniffer hounds. Burton has a couple of quite impressive villains and a great showdown at the end. If you love a good page turner check out this series.

The Book Nook on WYSO is presented by the Greene County Public Library with additional support from Washington-Centerville Public Library, Clark County Public Library, Dayton Metro Library, and Wright Memorial Public Library.
