Ellen Belcher, who's filling in for Emily McCord, interviews Secretary of State Jon Husted, Ohio's chief elections officer and a former state lawmaker from Kettering.Republicans want to repeal changes to the state's election rules that they passed last year, arguing they were necessary reforms. Democrats have succeeded in getting a referendum on the ballot in November that would negate the changes, which include cutting the early voting window from 35 to 21 days and ending early voting on the Friday before an election at 6 p.m.
Democrats think they'll prevail this fall, which would be a second rejection of Republicans at the polls -- the other being last year's defeat of the controversial Senate Bill 5, which limited the collective bargaining rights of public employees.
