Brown Street to Get Makeover

This morning Dayton City Commission voted on a plan that would repair and resurface the stretch of road from Miami Valley Hospital to Irving Street.

Four out of the five city commissioners were present for the vote, approving the $4.4 million dollar plan unanimously.  Kery Gray, Executive Assistant to the Dayton City Commission, says a pre-construction meeting will be held tomorrow (Friday).

Motorists should expect to see orange barrels within a week, but could see them as early as this Friday.  Gray says businesses along Brown Street have generally had a positive response to the project,  and the city is working with area businesses to minimize interruption of service to the community.  The aggressive construction plan will be completed the end of November.
