During Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the community gathers together at Project Woman's Candlelight Vigil to support and remember those affected by domestic violence and to honor those who have dedicated themselves to ending domestic violence. The event features the voices of advocates and survivors, music by Wittenberg University's group, Just Eve, and the annual presentation of the Chrysalis Award, given to an individual or organization for outstanding advocacy work on behalf of survivors. This year's award will posthumously honor longtime community advocate, Winkie Mitchell. Her son, Jason Mitchell, will accept the award.
