Based in Cleveland, Ohio, they have become a staple at numerous Latino and multicultural events, including La Calle Ocho Festival, Virginia Beach Latin Festival, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for Latino Heritage Day. Their music appeals to a diverse fan base, transcending age and ethnicity. Grupo Fuego has shared the stage with Latin music legends like Gilberto Santa Rosa and Tito Puente Jr. Their sophomore album, The Element, produced by Grammy winner Freddy Mendez, showcases their musical maturity and creativity, delivering a vibrant mix of melodies and rhythms that continue to captivate audiences.
Gem Series Opener: Dayton Salsa Project
Dayton Salsa Project (DSP) is a vibrant Latin music ensemble founded in August 2018 by local musicians from Dayton, Ohio, and various Latin American countries including Puerto Rico, Colombia, and Peru. The band aims to break barriers and promote inclusion through music, showcasing how diverse cultural backgrounds can unite harmoniously. DSP has become a beloved part of Dayton’s music scene, performing at events like the Levitt Pavilion’s Eichelberger Concert Series and RiverScape MetroPark’s Summer Music Series. Their performances feature popular salsa classics from the 1970s and 80s, celebrating the rich history and diversity of Latin music.
