What's Great in Dayton: May 25 - 31, 2018

Sideshow's 13th event is a show of Art and Music that all ages can enjoy featuring more than 100 local artists and musicians. This event has Sculpture, Painting, Music, Performers, Wrestling, Dancers, Comedy, Food Trucks, Local Brews, Photography and much, much more. Tonight 5pm-1am and Saturday, 3pm-1am in Yellow Cab Tavern.

Calling all Superheroes! Lace up your sneakers. Tie on your cape. Grab your super pooch for one of the LARGEST animal events in the Miami Valley!! This is the 27th Annual Furry Skurry 5K & Furry Fest. It is family-friendly and the pet-friendly event supports The Humane Society of Greater Dayton. It is Saturday morning at the Eastwood MetroPark.

Heritage Day with the Dayton Philharmonic...It's a Memorial Day weekend to remember! Sunday, 11:00am - 8:30pm at Carillon Historical Park.

The student filmmakers of Wright State University's award-winning Motion Pictures Program are showing their new thesis films. There are a number of contemporary issues and themes, including coming of age stories, cyberbullying, severed familial relationships, racial tensions, aging, conquering fears and more. This is at The Neon on Sunday and there are two scheduled screenings of the films: 5:30pm and 8pm, both ending with Q&A with the directors of the films. 

Bakersfield Mist. Maude Gutman, an unemployed bartender, lives in a trailer park and has purchased a painting for $3 at a thrift store that she believes to be an unknown painting by the great Jackson Pollock. Does she have a Pollock or a fake? This play is at the Dayton Theatre Guild, and it wraps up on Sunday.
