John Burke is the protagonist in a new series of mysteries written by Tom Harley Campbell. Burke is directing homicide investigations for the Dayton Police Department. He's getting ready to retire. When a car containing the skeletal remains of a man who went missing many years ago is located at the bottom of Eastwood Lake Burke finds himself plunging into a murder investigation that forces him to face some painful memories he would rather not recall.
After we aired this interview and I covered the book for the Dayton Daily News demand for this book spiked in our region. It became one of the most requested titles at the Dayton Metro Library. When I checked the number of "holds" patrons had placed on this title I was thrilled to discover that "Satan's Choir" was in even greater demand locally than the new novel by Stephen King.
Campbell has written one heckuva story. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
