The Dayton Greek Festival, held this weekend, celebrates its 60th anniversary this year.

The Doctor from India film is a meditative and immersive portrait of the life and work of Dr. Vasant Lad, the holistic health pioneer who first brought the ancient medical practice from India to the west in the late 1970s. He was both a healer and a mystic, and dedicated his life to sharing what is considered the oldest healthcare system on earth to our complex medical landscape . This film is at The Neon on Saturday and Sunday at noon.

The Dayton Greek Festivalare providing, delicious food, unique boutique items, cooking demonstrations, imported beer and wine, craft beer, live music, and dance performances. There are also tours of the beautiful church. Today & Saturday it is 11am to 11pm; Sunday, 11am to 6pm.

It's time for the September First Friday so NOW you can tap those fall beers! These features new art gallery exhibits, live music, food and dining specials, and much more.

The World House Choir is doing a powerful 57-minute oratorio entitled Bayard Rustin: The Man Behind the Dream. It tells the dramatic story of Rustin who was a close associate of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Rustin introduced King to Ghandian non-violent methods of protest and was also largely responsible for organizing the massive and historic March on Washington in 1963. This is tonight at Westminster Presbyterian Church. There is no charge but donations accepted!

The Peace Dayton Collaborative Group is a consortium of over 100 Dayton and Miami Valley organizations and they are hosting 50 local peace events during September. This is in celebration and commemoration of U.N. International Day of Peace.  Check it out at peacedayton.org/calendar/

This Sunday is the 2018 WYSO Community Concert and songwriter Chris Smither is the featured performer. This is at RiverScape MetroPark in downtown Dayton at 6pm.
