What's Great in Dayton: January 5 - 11, 2018

Returning for the third year, Adventures on the Great Miami is hosting The Great Christmas Tree Bon Fire on Saturday. It opens at 5pm with the bonfire at 7. This features live music and a food truck. There is no cost for the Christmas Tree Burn.

Focus On Flora. The motifs in this current work by local artist David Leach have natural plant forms and shapes drawn as linear abstractions that overlap and fill the page. The exhibition is an attempt to create a working space within the exhibition space at the Dutoit Gallery. Some will be framed; others pinned to the wall as in a studio. You can see it tonight  from 5-8pm.

Hello, Dolly! Is one of the most award-winning musical comedies in history. It includes “Put On Your Sunday Clothes,” “Before The Parade Passes By” and the unforgettable title song! Muse Machine is proudly presenting this on Thursday, January 11 to Sunday, January 14.

No one dreams of being a tutor: just ask Heidi, Toby, and Joe. This has forced them to confront the anticlimax of adulthood and they are not ready to give up on their social networking startup—just yet. When Heidi's online editing begins to invade her subconscious and a student crosses the line, all three friends might be in over their heads. The Tutors is a funny, heartfelt look at day jobs versus dream jobs and the people we count on to remind us of the difference. Mathile Theatre Schuster Center, Now through Sunday.
