What's Great in Dayton: January 19 - 25, 2018

Learn about the exciting field of robotics. Designed for children and adults of all ages, this offers several hands-on opportunities for all to enjoy. Demonstration and activity stations teach fun aerospace principles, such as the role of robotics in the Air Force, examples of robotic toys, working robotics and more. This is Saturday, 9am to 3pm at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force.

The Masonic Key: The Influence of Freemasonry on Public Perceptions of Archaeology. A presentation about this is on Saturday, 10:30am, at SunWatch Indian Village/Archaeological Park. There is no cost and open to the public. Pastries will be provided; guests are welcome to bring a beverage.

Dayton is uniting with other cities throughout the U.S. on a Women's March to reaffirm commitment to building a positive and just future for all, and to celebrate the spirit of resistance efforts over the past year. The 2018 Dayton Women's March is Saturday from 2 to 3pm at Courthouse Square.

David Greer, the author of Jack Egan, Dayton Lawyer: A Short History of Dayton's Dark Side from 1899 to 1936, is presenting a captivating tale of Jack Egan. He was a prominent defense attorney for a bewildering assortment of bank robbers, bootleggers, hit men, con men and gangsters.  This is Sunday 2 to 3:30pm in the Wright Memorial Public Library in Oakwood. There is no cost and open to the public.

Five Rivers MetroParks and Wright State University are seeking dedicated, enthusiastic individuals to help at The Adventure Summit. Volunteer opportunities are available for everyone from the novice hiker to the expert outdoor person. You will leave knowing you have promoted an active, healthy lifestyle in the region and have contributed to making Dayton "The Adventure Capital of the Midwest!"

Charlie Campbell wants to spread the news of so many wonderful aspects in the greater Dayton area. He is a cheerleader and a real believer that our area is the place to be. He has been active in this area for almost 40 years and you can hear him weekly at WYSO.
