The West Carrollton school levy failed with 51% of votes against and 48% for. According to Scott Elliot of the Dayton Daily News, the school district has already said it would be back in February with a levy twice the size.
"So for voters there, that's kind of the the choice they had do they want to sort of getting on the steady footing and get a more normal levy the next time or do they want to starting seeing a really large levy? Now of course West Carrollton is really hit hard by the economy and a lot of unemployment so that's another case of a district that's under some difficult circumstances," says Elliot.
