Schuler's And Dunkin' Donuts Test Customer Loyalty

The battle for donut supremacy has begun in Springfield as a new Dunkin’ Donuts store has opened on South Limestone Street, right next door to longtime Clark County sweet tooth staple Schuler's Bakery. The new option is testing loyalties.

For Enon resident Dawn Smith, the side-by-side set-up has become a glazed donut and thumb print cookie destination opportunity.

"I have to say Schuler's will always be my favorite, but Dunkin Donuts is good," she said.  "I've been coming to Shuler's probably since I was in my mom's belly and I'm 30."

But 12-year-old Rhianna Hill is glad to see the new option.

"I like Dunkin Donuts because it's on fleek," she said.

That's slang for "awesome" or "very good." Though Rhianna's friend, 13-year-old Asia Mays disagrees; she's a Schuler's fan.

"Dunkin Donuts is too sweet," Mays said.

Asia said glazed are her favorite and Rhianna likes cinnamon donuts. And while Dunkin Donuts' slogan is "America Runs On Dunkin," Schuler's hopes locals still connect with their motto, "Home of the Homemade."
