Police in southwest Ohio say a shopper fatally shot a 16-year-old boy after an alleged robbery attempt outside an Ohio shopping mall.
Police responded Saturday morning to a reported shooting at the Dayton Mall in the southern Dayton suburb of Centerville. The Montgomery County coroner's office says the teen died at 10:55 a.m. Saturday. The coroner on Monday identified him as Jawaad Jabbar (juh-WAHD' jab-BAHR') and said he died of a gunshot wound to the torso.
Miami Township police say three juveniles from Middletown approached two adult males and demanded their merchandise. They say one juvenile showed a gun, and one of the adults who had a permit to carry a concealed weapon fired his gun.
Police say charges are pending for two juveniles who are being held in custody.
