What's Great in Dayton: November 15 - 21, 2013

Aullwood Candle Dipping

Aullwood Candle Dipping is on Saturdays and Sundays starting at 2:30. Candle dipping using beeswax creates special memories at Aullwood. The glow of a dipped candle is the perfect way to “warm up” a cold winter night.

The Piqua independently owned businesses are coming together to host a community-wide Holiday Open house this weekend. The stores will be festively decorated and all the season's exciting new merchandise will be unveiled.  The Holiday Open House will run 5 - 9 today, 10 to 5 on Saturday, and Noon to 4 on Sunday. Go to Mainstreetpiqua.com.

Immigration: Our Shared Dream will open on Sunday, at 2:00 p.m. on the Dayton Peace Museum. The exhibit offers a broad perspective on immigration challenges and opportunities in the United States and around the world. It includes information on the critical role immigrants played in Dayton's early development, as well as stories from recent time.

Next week from Tuesday to Friday in downtown Dayton is Christ Episcopal Church’s 84th Annual Waffle Shop.  Naturally delicious, made-from-scratch waffles with sausages are on the menu, which also includes soups, sandwiches, salad, desserts and drinks, all at reasonable prices. And find some fun gift options among the craft and rummage sale items.
