Intern/ContributorGarrett is a WYSO intern and graduate student at the University of Dayton. He spent time covering the Dayton area with WDTN Channel 2 News after the 2019 Memorial Day Tornado outbreak. It was around this time that he began listening to NPR and fell in love with radio-based journalism. Garrett graduated from UD in May of 2021 with his Bachelor’s in Communications with a focus in journalism and graduated in May of 2022 with his Master’s. While not working at WYSO, Garrett is an avid reader, loves to play video games, and hanging out with his friends.

The City of Riverside is one of 14 recipients of Safe Streets for All (SS4A) Grants in Ohio. The grants come from the federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and will pay for safety improvements on local roads.

The National Museum of the United States Air Force hosted the fourth annual mini drone race this weekend. Visitors to the museum were able to see pilots fly their mini drones through a few of the museum’s aircraft.

The City of Huber Heights is looking at updating some of its zoning codes regarding home occupations. The current codes were crafted around concerns from the 80s and 90s. Now, officials want to update these rules for the modern day.
