Muse Machine Executive Director Resigns

Today Dayton's arts education organization, Muse Machine announced that Executive Director Luke Dennis is stepping down later this year to work at Harvard University.

Dennis will serve as the curator of the Harvard Theatre Collection. Founded 100 years ago, it was the first of its kind in the United States. It contains manuscripts, letters and diaries from actors, directors , choreographers and many others. Dennis will oversee promotion of the collection and the acquisition of new pieces from current members of the theatre community.

"It contains miles of shelf space and map cases and boxes full of anything that could be used to document performance. The George Balanchine papers are there for example," says Dennis.

"So that any student, no matter what they're into, can try something out and find a safe space where they're supported and understood, even if they're not at home or by their peers," says Dennis.

Dennis will remain with Muse Machine until the end of December. The Muse Machine board announced that it will begin a search for his replacement in the near future.
