130th General Assembly Starts Its Work

State Senator Keith Faber (R-Celina) was sworn in as President of the Ohio Senate. He was joined in the Senate Chamber by his wife, Andrea and their two children.

It’s going to be a busy year at in the House, says Republican Speaker Bill Batchelder.

“Well, there’s no question. I think we’re going to see some exciting announcements this week, and I think we’re going to be looking at very important questions about the structure of state government,” says Batchelder.

Ohio General Assembly honors Fallen Soldiers

The Ohio House and Senate has awarded the Ohio Military Medal of Distinction to the families of 28 Ohio soldiers who lost their lives while serving our country during the past year. Republican House Speaker Bill Batchelder, at a Statehouse ceremony, said each has made a sacrifice to this state that will never be forgotten.
