Ohio Gov. John Kasich is expected today to announce plans for training programs at three community colleges that will aim to provide certain groups of people with job training and employment services.

School buses will return later this month in a struggling Ohio school district where voters approved a tax increase after eight rejections.

The interim superintendent of the Little Miami Schools said at this week's school board meeting that the district is "standing in a hole" but is trying to get back up to ground level. The southwest Ohio school system has been under state supervision and listed in "fiscal emergency."

President E. Gordon Gee says the Ohio State University should have asked more pointed questions as a memorabilia-for-cash scandal was first coming to light.

The NCAA last month hit Ohio State with a one-year bowl ban and additional penalties for violations that started with eight football players taking thousands of dollars in cash and tattoos. That was in exchange for jerseys, rings and other Buckeyes memorabilia.

Gee tells The Columbus Dispatch that the university has learned to back up its procedures by asking the right questions.
