In this month’s SOCHE Talks - Wittenberg University professor Tammy Proctor speaks about The Myth of the Female Spy. You’ll hear about an art exhibit featuring the works of Military veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

On Friday, July 26, and Saturday, July 27, Antioch College will host a series of free writing and art workshops for veterans and local allies. The workshops will be facilitated by Lovella Calica, founder of Warrior Writers, an organization that fosters artistic expression through workshops and retreats for veterans.  The workshops are part of a collaboration with the Herndon Gallery’s latest exhibition, Coming Home, which presents visual art and written works from recent military veterans.

Co-curated by Antioch College alumnae Dennie Eagleson ’71 and Lynn Zimmerman Estomin ’72, Coming Home will include recent work by veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to express their experience in war and returning home through creative writing and visual art.  We'll hear from Dennie Eagleson on today's program.

Up First.... a wrap-up of some of the week's news.  Three local newspapers are shutting down in August. Ohio Jobs numbers are out - we'll hear from Ben Johnson with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.  Emily McCord has this week's Politics Ohio.
