Oktoberfest is this weekend at The Dayton ArtInstitute.…lots of artisans, unique foods, ample beers, live music on two stages.

Ignite Innovation is a science festival that will offer ways for people of all ages to experience the amazing opportunities that spark creativity.

Saturday the Learning Tree Farm will be having exciting and fun activities for all.  Hayrides, face painting, pony rides and The Cow Pie Contest! You guess the spot  where the cows will plop!

The Chocolate Festival is Saturday at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. Come out for a delightful day of family fun! Live entertainment, games, prizes, clowns, a bounce house and more.... & of course - CHOCOLATE!

On Sunday the Oakwood Historical Society is doing a tour and you’ll see how four men purchased and platted 78+acres of rural farmland. But since few people were willing to move so far out of the city it was “a failure” according to an early Dayton biographer.  Come hear the rest of the story.

At Fourth St. at Wayne Ave. is the Garden Station Community Garden. It’s open on Sunday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Stop by for fresh local produce, locally roasted coffee beans, and more.

Every week I e-mail out all kind of things going on. Go to www.GreatDayton.com, and you can see what I do and sign up.

Gotta go….Charlie, I need some lederhosen, Campbell

Charlie Campbell wants to spread the news of so many wonderful aspects in the greater Dayton area. He is a cheerleader and a real believer that our area is the place to be. He has been active in this area for almost 40 years and you can hear him weekly at WYSO.
