What's Great in Dayton: October 13 - 19, 2017

Are You A Singer In The Shower? Connect with fellow Dayton singers at Bach Society's Sing Dayton! Newcomers, shower singers, and choral ninjas are all welcome. If you love to sing but don't have time to join a choir, then this could be for you! This is tonight, 6-9PM at Yellow Cab Tavern.

The annual Artistry in Wood Show & Sale is Saturday and Sunday at the Roberts Centre in Wilmington. Many of the top woodworkers in the country will be at this event!

SuburbiCon features comic book creators showing and selling their work. It also offers several art activities for all ages, including the Mega-Big Comic Page, cape and mask making, a fan art contest and more. The Comic Swap is back to bring those unwanted comics to trade with others (no sales allowed, trades only). This is Saturday, 9AM to 3PM, at Rosewood Arts Center in Kettering, and there is no charge to attend.

Pumpkins! A Smashing Good Time Farm Walk is Saturday starting at 2:30pm in Aullwood Farms. Hike through leaves of different colors and listen to the leaves crunch beneath your feet. Learn all about pumpkins - from spring plantings to baking pumpkin seeds. Paint a pumpkin to take home and help feed the cows a pumpkin for their dinner.

In 1947 something crashed in the desert outside of Roswell, New Mexico. Was it a weather balloon, top-secret military project or something from another world? There's even an alleged Wright-Patterson AFB connection! Learn about this on Sunday, 2PM, in the Wright Library in Oakwood.

Gotta go….
