The Spirit of Huffman tour gives you a visual feast of Halloween decorations and entertainment among the Victorian homes. You have a guide who takes you through the neighborhood and stopping to tour nine unique homes. Each tour is two hours long and includes refreshments. It is tonight 6 to 8:45pm and Saturday, 4 to 8:45pm.
Learn how to identify and enjoy the many edible plants in our environment that are both safe and nutritional. Using visuals and taste testing, you eat edibles that are common in our environment, especially seeds, flowers and leaves. Fall is a great time for wild nuts and fruits though most of us have never tasted them. This is at the Dayton International Peace Museum, on Saturday, 3 to 5pm.
Traditional Turkish folk music, Sufi songs - even a whirling dervish - will make the Main Library a lively place on Sunday. Musician Latif Bolat, accompanied by a dervish dancer, performs 2 to 3:30pm at the Library in downtown Dayton. There is no cost and open to the public.
The Antioch Writers Workshop is letting you know how to participate in National Novel Writing Month which takes place every November. Join thousands of other writers across the country as they prepare the first draft of their novel. If you have long nurtured a desire to write a novel (or just got the urge) this program will be of help to you. This is Sunday, 2 to 3:30pm at Books & Co at The Greene.
The 2018 Family Fall Festival in Oakwood is Sunday. You can see scarecrows being made, ride on a horse drawn wagon, jump and play in many inflatable games for the kids, check out a costume competition, and you can see and hear the accordion players who take requests! This is 2 to 5pm at Shafor Park in Oakwood.
