What's Great in Dayton: November 17 - 23, 2017

Aullwood's One-Stop Holiday Shop is Saturday,  9am to 5pm at the Marie S. Aull Education Center! This brings dozens of local museum stores, nonprofit organizations, vendors, crafters, and artisans together. Shop for handmade jewelry, museum treasures, homemade jams, photography, pottery, baskets, soaps, and much more! The Aullwood Café will serve soup, sandwiches and other goodies.

The Boonshoft Museum provides hands-on STEM activities, interacting with partners and Museum professionals, and more. All can also explore the STEM Expo. This is on Saturday, 10am-3pm in the Main Exhibit Hall! There is no cost for this event.

The Troy-Hayner Cultural Center has their 7th annual HAYNER GIFT GALLERY on Saturday from 10am to 4pm at the Hayner Center. The house will be filled with Artists and Vendors, each selling their own special and unique products. This is the place to find that "one of a kind" gift that you have been searching for and a great way to start your Holiday shopping!

Fifty years ago, the UD basketball Flyers, an unranked Cinderella team, won four heart-pounding victories to propel themselves into the finals of the NCAA men's basketball tournament. They faced John Wooden's UCLA Bruins led by Lew Alcindor (Kareem Abdul Jabbar). Join in on the excitement of "Flyers in the Finals" on Sunday, 2pm at the Wright Library, in Oakwood

The Dayton Visual Arts Center is opening today and running through December 23rd. This annual event transforms the downtown Dayton gallery into an all-art, all-original, all-local gift gallery where you can shop from hundreds of unique items created by 55 Miami Valley artists. It is a fun way to support the artists in our community and check off a shopping list with truly one of-a-kind gifts.

Gotta go….
