What's Great in Dayton: February 16 - 22, 2018

We want the funk! The Funk Center in downtown Dayton’s Fire Blocks District is having its grand opening from 6:30 to 8:30pm tonight at the Dayton Metro Library in downtown Dayton.

The 59th annual Spring Orchid Show and Sale is at the Cox Arboretum MetroPark. This is Saturday & Sunday, 10am to 4pm. There is no charge and open to the public.

Beer & Brewing with A Taste of Aullwood. Bring your friends for this at the Marie S. Aull Education Center on Saturday from 6 to 9:30pm. Everyone  will join in an informative beer tasting session with our local beer masters and discover some of their secrets to creating an amazing beer! Nine of the area's best restaurants and caterers will be there.

If you are curious about the influence of steam and electric-powered railways on the development of the earliest suburban plats to the south of Dayton then on Sunday, 2pm at the Wright Library in Oakwood an expert will be telling you all about this.

Hot Soups for a Cool Cause! You will enjoy a wide choice of delicious soups, gourmet breads, salads, desserts, and beverages. Your ticket is fully tax deductible and supports the Peace Museum's exhibits and educational projects. This is next Friday, 11:30am -1pm, at Christ Episcopal Church but make your reservations by Tuesday. Seating is limited.   

At Coco's Bistro, the Stivers School for the Arts serenade you while enjoying a tasty brunch, and supporting the premier arts school in the region. On Sunday you will hear The Stivers Concert Pianists; These sell out quickly so be sure to reserve a spot.
