What's Great In Dayton: August 31 - September 6, 2018

Aullwood Farm and Nature Center
Aullwood Farm and Nature Center

Aullwood's Farm and Nature Center is having a special day. Bring your family and friends to explore the six miles of trails, meet their animals at the farm and the center and look for native birds! On Sunday, from 1 to 5pm there is no cost.

The Foster Roster at the Humane Society of Greater Dayton provides loving care and temporary housing for animals not yet ready to enter into the adoption program. Fostering provides an invaluable service and helps save lives! They need you to help provide a little time, compassion and maybe even a piece of your heart to these small babies until they are ready to find their forever homes! Can you help?

The Dayton Holiday Festival is searching for a tree to be the centerpiece of Courthouse Square this holiday season. The selected tree will be decorated with more than 50,000 lights and be unveiled at the Grande Illumination ceremony on Friday, November 23. If you believe you have the perfect tree then contact The Downtown Dayton Partnership. Their phone number is: (937) 224-1518

The Peace Dayton Collaborative Group is a consortium of over 100 Dayton and Miami Valley organizations and they are hosting 50 local peace events during September. This is in celebration and commemoration of U.N. International Day of Peace.  Check it out at peacedayton.org/calendar/
