What's Great in Dayton: August 31 - September 6, 2012

Check out the Giant Scale Radio Controlled Model Aircraft Air Show Saturday, Sunday and Monday at the National Museum of the US Air Force. See daring acrobatics performed by model jets, helicopters and warbirds during this three-day air show.

The Tecumseh Land Trust is open for entries in their first ever Sunflower Photo Competition. The winner will be announced at the land trust's Harvest Auction September 21st. The winner will receive two tickets to the auction as well as additional prizes.

At the University of Dayton Libraries, in the Roesch Library Gallery there is an exhibit titled Greatness: The Creation and Afterlife of the King James Bible. It highlights the dramatic history behind the making of the King James Bible, and includes its influence on English and American literature and its multifaceted impact on culture and society to the present day.

And finally… Labor Day is an American federal holiday observed on the first Monday in September that celebrates the economic and social contributions of workers. It pays tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers. It also symbolizes the end of summer for many Americans, and is celebrated with parties, parades and athletic events.
