What's Great In Dayton: August 10 -16, 2018

The Germanfest Picnic is at RiverScape MetroPark and there is fabulous German food, plenty of German Beer on tap, live musical entertainment on two stages all day long. And a KidZone, Culture Display, 5K and 10K race. And lots of handcrafts and German items. It is today, 5 to 11; Saturday, 11am to 11pm; and Sunday, 11am to 6pm with Polka Mass at 10am.

The Dayton Dragon's 11th Annual Great American Beer Tasting provides over 100 beers to choose from; a Great American Beer Tasting pint glass; plenty of activities and games on the field; 20, 4-ounce samples of beer; raffle ticket for prizes and more! This is at Fifth Third Field on Saturday from 2 to 6pm.

Art On The Commons features fine arts and crafts by over 100 talented artists from throughout the USA. There are ceramics, digital art, fiber/leather, glass, jewelry, mixed media, painting, photography, sculpture, works on paper and wood creations. This is at Kettering's Lincoln Park Civic Commons, on Sunday, from 11am to 5pm.

There is a contest and YOU DECIDE who is the best artist. This is in the Art in the City 2018 juried show! See these local artists on line and then vote for your top three favorites.

The Tour de Gem is a fundraising event to assist over 40 area nonprofits achieve their mission. Everyone can participate regardless of cycling expertise. There are a series of Fun Rides, from 3-10 miles and other options from 30 to 103 miles. They want people to have fun, ride at their leisure, or possibly challenge themselves.

Sing in choral bliss with the Bach Society of Dayton! They are gearing up for a new season of inspiring concerts, and they're hosting auditions for all vocal ranges! The chorus loves the camaraderie of rehearsals, and the music director creates an environment of fun, encouragement, and musical excellence.
