The Two-Way
Springsteen: 'Initial Signs Are Encouraging' On Clemons
By Mark Memmott
Bruce Springsteen says that E Street Band sax player Clarence Clemons "will need much care and support to achieve his potential once again," but "all initial signs are encouraging" as he recovers from a serious stroke suffered over the weekend.
The Boss also says that fans who want to send the Big Man get-well messages can do so by e-mailing notestoclarence@clarenceclemons.com. According to USA Today, the Web has "lit up ... like a brush fire" with messages for Clemons.
Clemons, 69, suffered the stroke at his home in Florida and is being treated at a hospital there.
