Premier Health Breaks Ground On New Austin Boulevard Emergency Center

Miamisburg is getting a new 24-hour emergency medical center. Premier Health broke ground Monday on the new hospital. It’s the latest addition to Dayton’s Premier Health network, which already includes five hospitals and two major health centers.

The Austin Boulevard Emergency Center will include nearly a dozen emergency beds, including two trauma bays.

Sharon Howard with the Miami Valley Hospital office of community and public relationssays emergency medicine specialists from Miami Valley Hospital will staff the new center.

“It’s really a part the long-term strategy and vision that Premiere has had for that southern Montgomery County region, of making sure that we are meeting the needs of people who live there, who have told us they want quality health care close to home,” she says.

Howard says the new Level I trauma center will also provide imaging services, including CT scans, X-ray and lab services. It will also link to Premier Health's TeleStroke Network, that connects stroke specialists remotely via computer to patients and providers at the point of care.

CareFlight Air and Mobile Services transportation will also be available at the center, which is expected to be completed by September, 2018.
