Voters in the Miami Valley are set to decide over a dozen school levies Tuesday. Several types of the levies are on the ballot.

Three districts are asking voters to approve funding to help pay for new school construction: Troy, Wayne and Preble Shawnee. Officials at Englewood’s Miami Valley Career Technology Center are also seeking funding for upgrades. Voters in several districts will decide that levy.

The Springboro and Beavercreek School districts have substitute levies on the ballot. Substitute levies, if approved, essentially allow the districts to collect additional tax revenue from new area home construction.

Several other districts, including Miamisburg and New Lebanon, are asking voters to approve five-year renewal levies. Those levies would not increase taxes.

And, Kettering, Vandalia-Butler, and Miami East district officials are asking voters to renew operating levies and to make them permanent.

Polls open Tuesday at 6:30 a.m.
