Book Nook: The Fens, by Pamela Wechsler

Pamela Wechsler is a former prosecutor who has taken up a new career writing for television and penning crime novels. Her latest book is her third in a series set in Boston. Her protagonist is Abby Endicott, the chief homicide prosecutor for the city. The author is a former prosecutor in Boston so she is writing about matters that she knows rather well.

In this one Boston is rocked by the news that a star player for the Boston Red Sox has been murdered. An investigation that involves Fenway,  the Red Sox ballpark, can be a touchy matter and Abby has to tiptoe at times as she tries to solve some mysterious crimes. She begins to wonder, are there other Red Sox players involved? Somehow she will get to the bottom of this high profile murder investigation.

Wechsler joins a rank of former prosecutors like Alafair Burke and Linda Fairstein who have made successful transitions from prosecuting attorneys to novelists.

The Book Nook on WYSO is presented by the Greene County Public Library with additional support from Washington-Centerville Public Library,  Clark County Public LibraryDayton Metro Library, and Wright Memorial Public Library.
