Animal Resource Center At Capacity, Extends Adoption Efforts

Josh Vance

Update: The “Summer of Love” adoption specials are being extended through September 1, 2018. The Montgomery County Animal Resource Center is offering half-off adoption specials on select dogs, puppies, cats and kittens.

Original Story:

The Animal Resource Center in Montgomery County is running their “Summer of Love” adoption specials - extending it in fact - through August 14, 2018. ARC Director Mark Kumpf says the center is extending the adoption sale because the center is operating at capacity.

“These adoptions include several things like a microchip, and the 2018 license for the pet,” he says. “Every animal from the shelter is spayed or neutered and microchiped.”

Kumpf says the center takes in about 7000 dogs and cats annually. He adds that they have at least a 70% "live release" rate though adoptions and pets returned to there owners.

The Animal Resource Center is located at 6790 Webster Street, Dayton, OH 45414. They ask if anyone is interested in adopting a forever friend, to email the Animal Resource Center at AnimalShelter@mcohio.org or call 937-898-4457.
