The city of Dayton is holding a public meeting Tuesday evening to address the city’s plan to use aerial surveillance. As WYSO’s Emily McCord reports, the program has is facing opposition from civil rights groups.

The Air Force continues to grapple with the number of sexual assaults among its members.

In March, Air Force Lt. Gen. Richard Harding and other legal officials for the military appeared before a Senate subcommittee to address rape in the services. The hearing was spurred by a general's decision to overturn a jury's sexual assault verdict on a U.S. Air Base in Aviano, Italy.

This week, Connecticut lawmakers passed one of the toughest gun laws in the nation, four months after the shootings in Newtown. It includes an assault weapons ban, universal background checks and limits to the size of magazines. Things are moving much slower at the federal level. Jo Ingles with the Ohio Public Radio Statehouse news bureau joins Emily McCord to discuss what Ohio is and isn't doing on gun laws in the state.

The Air Force has been struggling with cases of sexual assault. Nearly 800 cases were reported last year and military leaders say many more are going unreported. April is sexual assault awareness month and WYSO’s Emily McCord spokes with Congressman Mike Turner for an update on how the Air Force is working to eradicate the problem.       

Supporters and Opponents of gay marriage are watching what's happening in Washington this week, as the Supreme Court considers two cases om the subject. Bill Cohen of the Ohio Public Radio Statehouse News Bureau joins Emily McCord to discuss the impact their decision could have on the state.
