Skratchmatik Turntable Crew Live on Kaleidoscope & a Dynamite Soul 2 Preview

This Saturday marks the second Dynamite Soul block party event in Yellow Springs. Designed as both a thank you to the community and a preview of this year's CyclopsFest, this free family-friendly event will feature performances from Columbus' Turntable Philanthropy and Dayton-based Skratchmatik Turntable Crew, who visited the WYSO studios for alive performance on Kaleidoscope.

Dynamite Soul 2 co-organizer Brian Johnson also stopped by to talk more about the event, which takes place Saturday May 18th, 5-10pm in the Kings Yard in Yellow Springs.

Yellow Springs looking at Springfield to supply the village water

The city of Springfield is close to reaching an agreement to supply water to Yellow Springs. The city is prepared to start the arrangement this summer.

An aging water treatment plant has prompted the village of Yellow Springs to look for a better way to supply water to its residents. The town's council is weighing concerns about water quality, costs and control when it comes to closing its treatment plant and entering into an agreement with Springfield to supply water.

Wheels Continues Musical Growth With New Full-Length Album

Yellow Springs band Wheels has been playing together since its members were in middle school. Now with members in high school and college, the band continues its musical growth with the release of a new self-titled full length album. Sam Salazar and Jamie Scott visited the WYSO studios to talk about the new album and its recording with Kaleidoscope host Juliet Fromholt

Wheels will celebrate the release of its self-titled album on April 6th at Gilly's in downtown Dayton.

The Coffin Daggers Come to Town for Yelloween

Saturday night marks the third annual Yelloween celebration in downtown Yellow Springs. Organizer Brother Bear visited the WYSO studios to chat with Niki Dakota about this year's event, which has a sci-fi theme. The celebration will feature live music from the Coffin Daggers, a New York-based surf punk band with a sci-fi twist of its own, that also stopped by the WYSO studios to share some music ahead of their live performance.
